Some Oxford County services are making interim changes in response to the Government of Ontario’s temporary move to Modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen.

This includes a return to curbside service for Oxford County Library branches, virtual service for Oxford County Archives, the Saturday closure of the landfill at the Waste Management Facility, and a pause to general visits and social outings at Woodingford Lodge.

Oxford County Library

Effective January 5, 2022, all 14 branches of Oxford County Library will be open for curbside service only. This means:

  • No in-person browsing at library branches.
  • Books, videos, games, electronics, toys, musical instruments, Kitchen Library items and more must be reserved for pick-up at local branches. To place a hold, call or email your local branch, reserve online at www.ocl.net, or email curbsidebooks@ocl.net. Before arriving to pick up your items, patrons are asked to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms, wear a 3-ply mask, and stay at least six feet (2 metres) apart from others.
  • Items can be returned to library drop boxes at any time.
  • Library account registrations and renewals must be completed online at myaccount@ocl.net or by calling your local branch.

Seniors and families with travel limitations can access Oxford County Library’s Check-in Calls service by calling 226-232-5092. Through this service they can register for a card, arrange home delivery of materials, or learn about library and community services.

Public computer use may be available by appointment at the Tillsonburg and Ingersoll branches for essential uses, such as accessing government forms and information (e.g., printing an Ontario enhanced vaccination certificate).

Oxford County Archives

Also effective January 5, Oxford County Archives will pause in-person access to collections while Ontario is under Modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen. Archives staff is available to respond to reference questions remotely at archives@oxfordcounty.ca. To access the County’s online research resources visit www.oxfordcounty.ca/archives.

 Oxford County Waste Management Facility

Starting January 8, the landfill at the Waste Management Facility in Salford will be temporarily closed on Saturdays to all customers (residential and commercial) for 21 days, or longer if the provincial Modified Step Two is extended. The facility will remain open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Oxford EarlyON Child and Family Centres

EarlyON is pausing its Outdoor Adventurer programs for the month of January. In the meantime, it is increasing Virtual Village programs to offer more opportunities to connect from the comfort of homes. For more information visit the Oxford EarlyON website or follow on Facebook.
