Notice of Construction

About this project
Oxford County is preparing to commence construction at the intersection of Oxford Road 29 and Blenheim Road, located east of Drumbo in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim, starting in June 2023. The intersection has been identified for improvements to roadway grade, horizontal alignment and vertical curvature to provide improved sight distances to increase the safety of the intersection.

The project is anticipated to begin in June 2023 and be complete by October 2023.

Traffic control
Oxford Road 29 will be closed from Oxford Road 3 in Drumbo to Trussler Road/Brant-Oxford Road 36 for the duration of the work. Blenheim Road will be closed from Township Road 8 to Township Road 5. A detour route will be provided on Oxford Road 3, Township Road 5 and Brant-Oxford Road 36.

Access to farms, residences and businesses will be maintained during construction. Access for emergency vehicles will be prioritized at all times during construction.

Emergency services, school boards and buses will be notified of all road closures and lane restrictions.

Safety
Stay safe and avoid the work area during construction. Respect work zones and obey traffic signs. Maintain a safe distance from construction equipment and vehicles entering and leaving the site.

Garbage & recycling
If access for waste collection is interrupted by construction, the contractor will collect homeowner bins and containers and take them to a central location for collection. Property owners are asked to mark garbage and recycling containers with their house number so they can be returned to the correct property.
