About the project

Oxford County has awarded a contract to GIP Paving Inc. to implement intersection improvements at Oxford Road 15 (Parkinson Road) and Springbank Avenue in Woodstock.

The work includes the implementation of a new right turn lane for northbound traffic approaching the intersection, removal and replacement of existing asphalt, ditch re-alignment, and installation of pedestrian crosswalks along the north, south and west legs of the intersection.

Construction is anticipated to begin the week of June 17, 2024, and is expected to be completed in September 2024. Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change based on contractor availability and other operational demands.

What you need to know

A partial road closure will be in effect at the beginning of construction, followed by a full road closure when construction is underway. At that time, Springbank Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Oxford Road 15 and Keyes Drive. During construction, local traffic is asked to use secondary entrances located out of the work zone to access local businesses.

There will be a planned detour route in place for the road closure including applicable detour signage.

Detour: Oxford Road 15 (Parkinson Road) and Springbank Avenue South/Juliana Drive to Oxford Road 59 (Norwich Avenue)
