Oxford County is advising area residents of road activity at Oxford Roads 59 and 33 between June 13 and 21  


NOTE: This has been updated from a previous post. 

 

The intersection at Oxford Roads 59 and 33 in the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock will undergo intermittent closures and lane restrictions beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2023. This will allow police partners to continue their investigation of the May 29 collision in the area and Oxford County work crews to complete the planned road safety measures for this intersection.

Police investigation activities

London Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police will close the intersection as part of their investigation of the May 29 collision in the area. 

Tuesday, June 13 – Wednesday, June 21, 2023

Construction to install new road safety measures

The installation of new road safety measures for the Oxford Roads 59 and 33 intersection begin June 13. The new all-way all stop at the intersection of Oxford Roads 59 and 33 will be activated on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, weather permitting.

When completed, the new intersection will feature: 

  • a new all-way stop
  • red flashing beacons above the intersection and mounted on all four stop signs
  • a reduction to 60 km/hr speed limit beginning 500 metres from the intersection on all four approaches
  • electronic speed feedback signs on all four approaches at the 60 km/hr speed zone limits
  • rumble strips on all four approaches
  • new line painting and pavement marking 

Residents should expect traffic delays and varying lane restrictions through this area during the day while work is completed.
