An opportunity for a local resident with a passion for public library services 


The Oxford County Library is looking for an engaged citizen who is passionate about reading, literacy and public library services to join the Oxford County Library Board for the remainder of the current board term, ending in December 2026.

As a board member, you will help ensure that Oxford County’s 14 branch locations provide comprehensive, efficient public library services that reflect the unique needs of Oxford County and its residents.

The governance responsibilities of the Oxford County Library Board include:

  • Maintaining a solid framework for the library’s operations
  • Defining the overall direction and results to be accomplished by the system as set out in the library’s strategic plan and annual business plans
  • Delegating authority to the Chief Executive Officer in a clear and appropriate manner
  • Liaising between the library and County Council and between the library and the community
  • Evaluating the results achieved by the system and demonstrating accountability to key stakeholders through an annual report and a legacy document at the end of the board’s term

Interested applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, and reside in a municipality with an Oxford County Library branch. Applicants are asked to submit their resume, in writing or by email, before October 22, 2023, at midnight to:
