This year’s theme is “Help Us, Help You,” highlighting the many ways paramedic services help in our community

Paramedic Services Week, May 19–25, is the perfect time to recognize and celebrate the skilled paramedic professionals in our community and across the globe.

Oxford County Paramedic Services Local 114 is honouring Paramedic Services Week with daily videos on its Instagram page, highlighting this year’s theme, “Help Us, Help You.” Each video shares helpful tips that can be critical in an emergency:

  • Make sure your house number, apartment number or rural 911 number are visible during the day and at night so paramedics can easily find your home in an emergency.
  • Before paramedics arrive at your home, unlock the door, lock away pets, and have your health card and medication list readily available.
  • Take a first aid course and learn CPR.

Oxford County Paramedic Services provides emergency care for the critically ill and injured and also plays a proactive role in the greater health system through community paramedicine. Last year, Paramedic Services responded to more than 19,000 paramedic calls in Oxford and made over 4,000 community paramedicine visits to vulnerable, marginalized or homebound residents.
