Road safety reviews in Princeton, Plattsville, Woodstock and Zorra
County Council will review on May 25 a number of measures aiming at managing speed, promoting uniform traffic flow, and improving road safety in Oxford communities. The proposed adjustments to speed zone limits and posted speeds in Princeton, Plattsville, Woodstock and Zorra are based on local data and traffic management best practices and will ultimately reduce the risk of collisions. Speed management and road safety reviews have been completed for a number of locations throughout the County over the past year following requests from area municipalities and residents.

Update on housing development on Parkinson Road in Woodstock
County Council is being asked to approve the transfer of up to $250,000 from the Affordable Housing Reserve to complete the 8-unit modular housing project at 738 Parkinson Road in Woodstock. The funds are needed to cover additional costs related to stormwater management, building materials and soil conditions. When completed this summer, the housing development will provide permanent accommodations to eight individuals on the County’s social housing waitlist. Approximately $1.5 million of the $1.8 million project is supported through provincial and federal funds.

Update on Phases 2 & 3 of Official Plan review
County Council will hear an update on the proposed scope and extent of the next phases of the Official Plan Review next council meeting.With the first phase focusing on agricultural policies now nearing completion, the County will turn to updating environmental policies (natural heritage, open space, water resources and more) as part of Phase 2. A third phase will look at cultural heritage (e.g., heritage and archeological resources) and the Plan’s various implementation measures (process and requirements for planning applications etc.). Each phase of the Official Plan Review includes opportunities for input from the area municipalities, the community, and other stakeholders.
