Update on application for Woodingford Lodge expansion

County Council receives an update next Council meeting on the expansion of Oxford County’s multi-site long-term care home, Woodingford Lodge.

On January 25, Council authorized the County to take the next step in exploring provincial funding for a new, minimum 160-bed long-term care facility in Ingersoll. At that time Council also directed staff to explore the need for additional long-term care beds in Oxford County. The report seeks Council approval for, and participation in, a Long-Term Care Steering Committee to facilitate this complex process.

Annual wastewater system performance reports

County Council receives the 2022 Annual Wastewater Treatment Plant Summary Reports and the 2022 Annual Biosolids Summary Report on March 8. Together, the reports show continued strong performance in managing wastewater generated by more than 70,000 residents and businesses in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Approximately 13.6 million cubic metres of wastewater was treated in 2022. Four of the nine County municipal wastewater treatment plants achieved 100% compliance ratings: Ingersoll, Mount Elgin, Tavistock and Thamesford. The remaining ratings encompass Drumbo 94%, Norwich 99%, Plattsville 97%, Tillsonburg 98% and Woodstock 99%.

The County re-invested nearly $18 million in wastewater infrastructure last year through the systems’ respective water and wastewater rates. This included the multi-year capacity expansion of the Drumbo plant, sanitary sewer replacements, multi-year upgrades of the Tillsonburg plant, servicing for the Woodstock Pattullo Industrial Park, various environmental assessment studies, and more.
