Boil water advisory issued for Mount Elgin
A Boil Water Advisory has been issued for the Mount Elgin municipal water system in the Township of South-West Oxford.
Residents under the Boil Water Advisory are asked to boil their tap water or use bottled water for drinking, making infant formula and juices, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth until further notice. Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute and allow it to cool. It may then be stored in clean containers.
This advisory is due to damage from a watermain break leaving the water supply system open to potential contamination. Residents may experience low water pressure or a lack of water due to the break. In consultation with Southwestern Public Health, Oxford County will advise residents when laboratory test results confirm the water is safe.
