Boil Water Advisory

August 20, 2023 – 5:00 AM

A boil water advisory has been issued by the Medical Officer of Health for Drumbo in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim following a water pressure loss at the Drumbo Water Treatment Plant. Southwestern Public Health is recommending the boil water advisory as a precaution in case of potential contamination of the drinking water system.

Under the Boil Water Advisory, residents are advised to boil tap water or use bottled water for drinking, making infant formula and juices, cooking, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, and brushing their teeth until further notice.

To use boiled water, Public Health recommends bringing water to a rolling boil for one minute then allowing it to cool. It may then be stored in clean containers.

In consultation with Southwestern Public Health, Oxford County will advise residents when laboratory test results confirm the water is safe.
