Reminder: In-home water quality testing

Oxford County is reminding residents that it doesn't offer in-home water quality testing after being alerted to a potential scam by a concerned citizen.

The resident alerted staff after they received a call from someone claiming to perform water-testing services on behalf of Oxford County.

Neither Oxford County nor its area municipalities currently perform in-home water testing, and County employees will not attempt to sell residents any products to improve water quality.

Oxford County holiday hours for Easter weekend

The Oxford County Administration Building, Oxford County Human Services  and the Oxford County Provincial Offences Building will be closed for Good Friday on April 7, reopening on Monday April 9, 2023. The Oxford County Waste Management Facility will be also be closed on Friday April 7, reopening the next day, Saturday April 8, 2023.

Please note Oxford County services for Paramedic Services, Woodingford Lodge, and Public Works continue over the holiday period.

Cracks and potholes on Oxford County roadways are typical this time of year due to fluctuating temperatures, melting snow, rain and frequent snow plowing. Motorists, residents and business owners can report potholes on Oxford County roads to customerservice@oxfordcounty.ca to reduce potential road hazards and ensure timely repair.

All pothole reports should include the following information:

  • name of the street
  • nearest building number
  • name of the nearest cross-street

New online exhibit offers insight into the local history of human-animal relationships

Oxford County Archives has created a new online exhibit celebrating the history of human-animal relationships. The exhibit 

provides virtual visitors with a peek into archival records featuring animals, including photographs, artwork, old by-laws, greeting cards, posters, newspaper material, and more. Virtual visitors will also delight in stories about some of the more famous animals in Oxford County’s history.
