Every February, people across Canada celebrate Black History Month to honour the enormous contributions Black people have made and continue to make in all sectors of our society. This year’s theme is: “Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.” It’s an opportunity to celebrate the resilience, innovation and determination of Black people as we listen, learn and foster greater understanding and compassion in our everyday interactions.

Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan will present a local landowner with the 14th annual Oxford Stewardship Award at the February 14 meeting of County Council. The award recognizes County landowners who have made exemplary contributions to preserve and enhance the natural features and areas on their properties, such as woodlands, wetlands, streams and meadows.

Steve and Cobi Sauder – A legacy of conservation
Cobi and Steve Sauder have dedicated their lives to outdoor education and conservation. Cobi is an outdoor education teacher, and Steve is a retiree who enjoyed a rewarding career with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.

Marsha and Greg Litt didn't waste time rolling up their sleeves and getting to work after purchasing their 60-acre property near Ingersoll three and a half years ago.
