About this project

Oxford County has awarded a contract to resurface Oxford Road 2, between Oxford Road 22 (Muir Line) and the west limit of Princeton, to GIP Paving Inc. of Petersburg, Ontario. The work includes cold-in-place asphalt recycling, hot mix asphalt paving, granular roadside shouldering, and pavement markings. This work will be completed in stages as described above and will include periods of inactive work between operations.

Road work is tentatively scheduled to begin in June 2023 and be completed by September 2023. Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change based on contractor availability and other operational demands. The approximate construction limits are shown (highlighted orange) on the back of this construction notice.

What you need to know

Oxford Road 2 will be restricted to one lane of traffic controlled by traffic control persons and pilot vehicles during contractors working hours. During non-working hours, traffic will be reinstated to two lanes. The contractor will be required to maintain access as best as possible to all properties. Some short-term interruptions and delays can be expected during this work.

Please continue to have your regular household waste and recyclables to the roadside by 7:00 a.m. on your regular pick up day. If access for waste collection is interrupted by construction, the contractor will collect your bins and containers and take them to a central location for collection. Property owners are asked to mark garbage and recycling containers with their house number so they can be returned to the correct properties.

Please reduce speed and obey construction warning signage within the work zone. Maintain a safe distance from construction equipment and workers while entering and leaving the construction limits.
