About the project

Oxford County has awarded a contract to Cassidy Construction London Ltd. of Dorchester, Ontario for culvert replacements on Oxford Road 8, between 13th Line and Oxford Road 22 in the Townships of East Zorra-Tavistock and Blandford-Blenheim. The work includes culvert replacements and restoration work as required.

Culvert replacements are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of May 13, 2024, and be completed by July 2024. Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change based on contractor availability and other operational demands.

 

What you need to know

Stage 1: Oxford Road 8 between 13th Line and Oxford Road 60 will be restricted to one lane of traffic controlled by traffic control persons during working hours. During non-working hours, traffic will be reinstated to two lanes.

Stage 2: Oxford Road 8 between Oxford Road 60 and Oxford Road 22 will be closed to through traffic during culvert replacements. Traffic will be limited to local residents, businesses and emergency services.

The contractor will be required to maintain access as best as possible to all properties. Some short-term interruptions and delays can be expected during this work. There will be a planned detour route in place for the road closure section including applicable detour signage.

Detour: Oxford Road 60 and Oxford Road 22 to Oxford Road 29.

Please continue to have your regular household waste and recyclables to the roadside by 7:00 a.m. on your regular pick-up day. If access for waste collection is interrupted by construction the contractor will collect your containers and take them to a central location for collection.

Homeowners are asked to mark garbage and recycling containers with their house number so they can be returned to the correct property.

Please reduce speed and obey construction warning signage within the work zone. Maintain a safe distance from construction equipment and workers while entering and leaving the construction limits.
