Construction is expected to be completed in October 2024 but is weather dependent. A marked detour route will be in place for the road closure from Dundas Street (Oxford Road 2) to Oxford Road 11 and Oxford Road 9.

Reconstruction work includes sanitary sewer replacement, service to watermain, new curb and sidewalk, and full-depth road reconstruction. The road’s four-lane cross section will be converted to two lanes with a centered two-way left-turn lane, along with the addition of two bike lanes.

A final application of surface asphalt will also take place to complete road reconstruction and bridge replacement work from Phase 1, completed in 2021, on Oxford Road 9 from Dundas Street to north of the railway tracks.
