Internal DEI Action Plan update
County Council receives an update on Oxford County’s Internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Action Plan next meeting. Over the past year, the County has made progress in each of the plan’s four priority areas: 1) a diverse workforce; 2) an inclusive workplace; 3) increased understanding through education and awareness; and, 4) inclusive and accessible internal communications. Some of the actions taken so far include new mechanisms for staff feedback, policy reviews, enhanced training, developing a DEI best practices handbook for staff, and pursuing options for providing multilingual customer service.

Training space for Paramedic Services
County Council will consider a proposal for an updated lease agreement to expand the Oxford County Paramedic Services space at 477 Griffin Way in Woodstock, currently leased for storage and warehousing. The updated lease agreement would allow Paramedic Services to establish and operate a training space for paramedics, who are required to attend two or three in-person training sessions per year. At present, paramedic training is taking place at other offsite locations, including at other area municipal facilities, as an interim measure.

5-Year Tourism Plan
A significant growth in tourism development in Oxford County has led to the development of the Tourism 5-Year Plan, a guideline for supporting the County’s economy, environmental sustainability, and well-being through support for the tourism industry, effective marketing and promotion, and collaboration with partners. The plan is aligned to the 2023-2026 Oxford County Strategic Plan as well as regional, provincial and national tourism strategies.
