Oxford County Public Works flushes all water mains in our systems twice annually (spring and fall) to remove any sediment or minerals (such as iron) that may have accumulated on the walls of the pipes, thereby improving the aesthetic quality of the water. The groundwater we use as a drinking water source has relatively high levels of minerals, which can settle in the water mains. Oxford County Archives is travelling back in time, virtually, to “visit” some of Tillsonburg’s notable businesses and industries around the time of the town’s incorporation in 1872.

Oxford County Library (OCL) will explore “tales” and “tails” this March Break with virtual programming featuring fairy tales and books about animals. The week-long calendar of events includes programming for children of all ages and interests, ranging from science and math to animal care, music, cooking, trivia and more while highlighting family-friendly library resources.

Report potholes to help keep Oxford County roads safe

Cracks and potholes on Oxford County roadways are typical this time of year due to fluctuating temperatures, melting snow, rain and frequent snow plowing. Motorists, residents and business owners can report potholes to customerservice@oxfordcounty.ca to reduce potential road hazards and ensure timely repair.
All pothole reports should include the following information:
- name of the street
- nearest building number
- name of the nearest cross-street
- which lane (i.e., northbound lane, turning lane, etc.)
