Woodingford Lodge-Woodstock in outbreak status for COVID-19

Outbreak confirmed by Southwestern Public Health today after five staff members and one resident test positive for COVID-19

The Woodingford Lodge site in Woodstock is in outbreak status for COVID-19 as of today, December 28, 2021.

The outbreak was confirmed by Southwestern Public Health today after five staff members and one resident tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Woodingford Lodge implemented the following measures, effective immediately until further notice:

  • All residents at Woodingford Lodge-Woodstock site will undergo full PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing. Residents who live in the two home areas (units) with a positive COVID-19 case were tested earlier today and are currently isolated in their rooms.
  • All employees will receive a rapid test at the start of each shift. Previously, employees were tested one to two times per week.
  • The Woodstock site is closed to visitors with the exception of essential caregivers, who are fully vaccinated.
  • Social outings are suspended.

Woodingford Lodge has also increased staffing levels to care for residents, help monitor for symptoms, and control the spread of infection through enhanced cleaning and other measures.

In addition, two staff members at the Woodingford site in Ingersoll also tested positive for COVID-19 today. Woodingford Lodge awaits further instruction from Southwestern Public Health and has begun PCR testing of all residents in the interim.
