Notice of Construction: Stover Street North (Oxford Road 59) Sewer repairs, Norwich

Oxford County has awarded a contract to Euro Ex Construction to complete the subject project. Scope of work generally includes the following:

  • Removals as required to accommodate sewer repairs/excavation
  • Select repairs to the municipal sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems (Refer to the Map attached to this Notice); and,
  • Restoration of disturbed areas

Stover Street N (Oxford Road 59) will be closed during construction in order to accommodate the proposed works. A planned detour via Quaker Street, Middletown Line, and Oxford Road 18 will be utilized to manage traffic and also afford continued access for emergency response vehicles. The contractor is required to ensure that access to local properties is maintained at all times. There may be short periods when the construction crews are working immediately in front of a driveway/ property when access may temporarily be restricted.

Emergency services, school boards and buses will be notified of all road closures and lane restrictions.

On garbage and recycling collection days, continue to place your garbage and recycling out at the roadside as usual. The contractor will be responsible for collecting garbage and recycling and moving it to a central area for pick up when access is restricted in certain areas. Please mark your house number on garbage and recycling containers to ensure they are returned to the correct address.

Residents within the work area can expect both planned and unplanned water interruptions. Every attempt will be made to notify customers in advance.

Given the developing situation around COVID-19 the County and all contractors/sub-contractors working on behalf of the County are committed to following the recommended precautionary measures, within other safety imperatives, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Oxford County is continually monitoring this situation as it develops and the ongoing challenges related to the spread of COVID-19. The work being undertaken on this project has been deemed essential to County infrastructure and is considered essential as per the provincial directives and mandates. An Oxford County inspector will be on site periodically performing inspection of contractors work and monitoring site activities.
