In April 2023, Oxford County Council initiated a strategic planning process to develop a new strategic plan. This plan:
- outlines a shared vision for the future of Oxford;
- reflects the priorities of the community, Council, and staff; and,
- provides a road map for the County over the next several years.
The 2023-2026 Strategic Plan responds to a number of key themes that surfaced during community consultation:
- Moving towards a more sustainable future, adapting and mitigating climate change impacts and continuing Oxford’s role as a leader in sustainability.
- Finding innovative solutions that address housing supply and affordability, and working with community partners and other levels of government to ensure we are “100% housed.”
- Preserving Oxford’s agricultural roots and natural landscape.
- Managing our growing communities through infrastructure, programs, and services to accommodate new residents and meet their evolving needs.
- A safe and well Oxford, addressing systemic challenges such as the housing crisis, income insecurity, and mental health and addictions.
- Building a community where everyone belongs through commitment and action that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong municipal services that emphasize quality, efficiency, responsiveness, and value for money.
