Collection Changes

Affecting Blandford-Blenheim, East Zorra-Tavistock, Ingersoll, Norwich, South-West Oxford, Tillsonburg and Zorra

Beginning May 4, 2020, Oxford County will begin working with a new contractor to collect garbage and recycling. Here’s what’s changing:

  • Pick-up days for curbside collection will change for approximately 3,000 customers in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg. South-West Oxford residents will stay on their current six-day collection cycle.
  • Pick-up times may change along collection routes, so all customers are reminded to set garbage and recycling at the curb by 7:00 a.m. to ensure pick up.
  • There are minor changes to what can and cannot be placed in the blue box recycling. See the list
  • Woodstock residents are not affected by any of these changes.

All Oxford County residents (excluding Woodstock) will receive an information sheet in the mail this month. This information sheet serves as a temporary Wasteline calendar outlining the updated collection schedule and highlighting minor changes to acceptable blue box recycling materials. It also contains information about large item pickup for the spring and summer. Residents can expect an updated Wasteline calendar in the mail this September.
