Notice of Construction - Road Reconstruction

Norwich Ave. & Parkinson Rd. Intersection, Woodstock

Sierra Infrastructure Inc. of Woodstock, Ontario will begin work in the upcoming week at the intersection of Norwich Ave and Parkinson Road. The work will consist of concrete sidewalk and curbs, surface asphalt paving, lane markings, and surface restoration of topsoil and sod. This final restoration work will complete the reconstruction project that took place during the summer/fall of 2017 that included replacement of the underground water and wastewater services. We thank motorists and area businesses for their patience.

Restoration will be phased with the following anticipated schedule:
Stage 1 (East side of Intersection) May 22, 2018 - June 8, 2018 (Approx. 2-3 weeks)
Stage 2 (West side of Intersection) June 11, 2018 - June 29, 2018 (Approx. 2-3 weeks)

Traffic Control

Norwich Ave. will be reduced from 4 lanes of traffic to 2 lanes for the duration of the project.
Stage 1: Parkinson Rd. will be closed from Norwich Ave. to 150m east of Norwich Ave.
Stage 2: Parkinson Rd. will be closed from Powell Street to Norwich Ave.

Detour routes will be in place for each individual road closure on Parkinson Road. Local businesses and residents within the construction limits will be able to access their property; however, there may be short periods when the construction crews are working immediately in front of a driveway when access may temporarily be restricted.

County Staff and the Contractor will make every reasonable effort to maintain access for residents and businesses within the active construction zone.

Emergency Services, School Boards and Buses

Emergency services, school boards and buses will be notified of all road closures and lane restrictions.

Garbage & Recycling

On garbage and recycling collection days, continue to place your garbage and recycling out at the curb by 8:00am. The Contractor will be responsible for collecting garbage and recycling and moving it to a central area for pick up when access is restricted in certain areas. Please mark your house number on garbage and recycling containers to ensure they are returned to the correct address.

Water Interruptions

There are no planned water interruptions for the remaining work on Parkinson Road and Norwich Ave. Every attempt will be made to notify customers in advance if planned work is required.
