Council This Week: Highlights from the November 28 County Council agenda
Oxford Stewardship Award, presentations to Council members and more
Oxford Stewardship Award presentation
The 10th annual Oxford Stewardship Award will be presented by Warden Mayberry at the November 28 County Council meeting. The award recognizes County landowners who have made exemplary contributions to the preservation and enhancement of natural features and areas, such as woodlands, wetlands, streams and meadows. As in previous years, Oxford County will honour the award recipient with original artwork commissioned from a local artist. Paul Walker, an Oxford County watercolour artist, has been selected as artist for 2018.
Presentations to Council
As the final meeting of the 2014-2018 County Council term, the CAO/Clerk’s Office will make a number of presentations to Council members on November 28. Included among these will be presentations to retiring Councillors Margaret Lupton and Marion Wearn; Councillors Trevor Birtch, Ted Comiskey, Larry Martin and Sandra Talbot for their one-year service terms as Deputy Warden; and David Mayberry for serving as Warden over the Council term. The first meeting of the new 2018-2022 Council takes place on December 11.
