Public health inspectors and nurses conduct infection prevention and control (IPAC) investigations on a complaint bases. An IPAC lapse is a departure from infection prevention and control standards that could result in infectious disease transmission through exposure to blood or bodily fluids.
If an IPAC lapse is determined as a result of the investigation, a process to notify the potentially affected patients will inform them of the risks and further instructions.
Public Health will also work with the facility where the IPAC lapse occurred to take corrective action and put measures in place to prevent a future lapse.
It is important to note that IPAC lapse investigations are not posted on this site, only confirmed IPAC lapses are posted.
There are no IPAC lapses to report at this time.
