The needle exchange program is a harm reduction program aimed at preventing blood borne infections such as HIV and Hepatitis by providing new needles and equipment to help clients avoid sharing these items.
The program offers clean needles and other harm reduction supplies including alcohol swabs, filters, tourniquets, cookers, vitamin C, sterile water, and sharps containers as well as safe disposal of used needles.
Public Health Nurses also offer testing, counseling and referral to appropriate community agencies.
