Oxford County Waste Mangement Facility now closed on Saturdays until further notice
Effective immediately, the Oxford County Waste Management Facility in Salford, which has already reduced down to commercial-use operations only, will be closed on Saturdays until further notice. It will remain available to commercial users during the COVID-19 outbreak during set hours. More
Statement by CAO of Oxford County regarding bag tags
Oxford County acknowledges that people have questions and concerns about our continued requirement for waste bag tags. Based on this feedback, we are reviewing the ongoing requirement for bag tags.Bag tags are available where many shop for food, gasoline and convenience items and can be purchased on those outings. We recognize some residents who are in self-isolation may not have such access; for those specific residents, we ask you please contact us directly. Read the statement
Provincial Offences Act court closure extended until further notice
The Oxford County Provincial Offences Administration office has extended its closure to the public until further notice. On March 15, 2020, the Chief Justice of Ontario cancelled Provincial Offences Act court dates between March 16 and April 3. This time period has now been extended up until May 29. Statement by the Mayors of Oxford County
The County warden and the mayors of Oxford County's area municipalities and released a joint statement affirming they are responding responsibly, cooperatively, and with the full strength of their resources to the pandemic crisis. Read the statement
Agenda items for the March 25 County Council meeting have been postponed to a future meeting. Council will instead meet by teleconference to allow for the amendment of the County's Procedure By-law that would allow for one meeting a month in April and May instead of two, as well as electronic participation by councillors during any period where an emergency has been declared. Accessing service at Oxford County Administration Building
The Oxford County Administration Building is now serving the public by telephone, email, or appointment only. This means the general public will not be allowed to enter the building without a pre-booked appointment except for deliveries. The designated entry point for all pre-booked visits is the Peel Street entrance (south doors).
Signs will be posted outside of the doors letting people know how to request service by telephone or email. Once you enter for an appointment, you will have to go through a screening process that includes taking your temperature with a touch-free infrared thermometer. More.
Waste Management Facility in Salford open for commercial use only as of March 21
Beginning Saturday, March 21, the Waste Management Facility in Salford will be open for commercial use only, and not available for residential drop off. Payment by debit or credit is preferred. Please note garbage and recycling collection are continuing as normal, but residents are asked to stay tuned for information on service changes that will affect some residents after May 4. Wasteline at www.wasteline.ca will have further updates in the coming weeks.

Oxford County Human Services (social assistance, housing and children’s services) remains open by pre-booked appointment only, or by telephone or email. If you're a social housing tenant, please note that maintenance repairs will be limited to essential ones that impact safety. Screening measures at Woodingford Lodge
By provincial directive, all three sites of Woodingford Lodge are closed to all but essential visitors to ensure a safe and secure environment for residents. The Ministry of Long-term Care is identifying essential visitors as those who have a resident who is end of life or very ill, or a parent/guardian of an ill child or youth in a live-in treatment setting. These visitors will be actively screened into these settings. Ministry officials will re-evaluate this measure in the coming weeks to ensure consistency with enhanced public health measures. Oxford County Library
All 14 Oxford County Library branches are currently closed. The Library continues to offer a range of online programming, including tools and resources for children and students available in the “eLibrary” at www.ocl.net.
Oxford County Archives
The Oxford County Archives office is currently closed. Archives continues to respond to research inquiries through email at email@example.com or by phone at 519-539-9800, ext. 3918.
Paramedic Services (ambulance) is well prepared, resourced and taking all precautionary measures.
Public Works services, including garbage and recycling, water, wastewater, and roads maintenance operations are continuing.
